  • Acrylic is a kind of paint that dries quickly. It is usually diluted with water before being applied to any surface.

  • Pastels come in three forms namely: soft, hard, and pencils. The first two options differ in their pigment and binder portions, while the last one comes with lead.

  • Oil is the opposite of acrylic since it is slow drying. This is widely used on portraits since it produces a natural sheen and a more vivid colour, providing translucency that is similar to human skin.

  • Tempura refers to a fast-drying paint and not a Japanese seafood dish. When it completely dries out, it produces a smooth matte finish.
